SCLR update

By May, the much delayed double-decker Santa Cruz–Chembur Link road (SCLR) will be partly open to traffic. Once the rest of SCLR is fully operational in October, the elevated road will help Mumbaikars travel from the EEH to the WEH in 15 minutes.
The top deck of the four-armed flyover is dedicated to traffic between the EEH at Amar Mahal junction and WEH at Vakola junction via Kurla and Kalina. The lower deck is for vehicles going to LTT railway terminus, Kurla Dairy (towards Chunabhatti, Suman Nagar) besides Amar Mahal and Vakola. The elevated arm towards WEH via Kurla crosses the Central Railway line while the arm towards Kurla Dairy crosses the Harbour line at LTT.
Officials said three arms of the lower deck — towards Amar Mahal, LTT terminus and Kurla Dairy would start in May — while the arm leading towards the WEH via Kurla and Kalina and the upper deck would be opened in October.Crucial work to build one more bridge over the Harbour line tracks near LTT station was completed recently. A flyover over LBS road at Kurla is already open for traffic.
