Petrol, Diesel prices go up....

State-run fuel retailers raised fuel prices as global crude prices have been inching up over the last fortnight, with major oil producers signalling a possible cut in production. Petrol price was raised by Rs.1.34 a litre, the fifth increase in two months, and diesel by Rs.2.37 a litre. The revisions were excluding state taxes, which would render final pump prices marginally higher.
In Mumbai, petrol will cost Rs.72.83 a litre after adding state taxes, up from Rs.71.15. Diesel will cost Rs.61.05 per litre against Rs.58.12 a litre.
The price of petrol was last hiked by 14 paise per litre and that of diesel by 10 paise a litre on October 5, following an increase in dealers'commission. Before that, petrol price had been raised three times.
