Tamil Nadu governor C Vidyasagar Rao allocated all portfolios of ailing CM J Jayalalithaa to finance minister O Panneerselvam. The FM will preside over cabinet meetings. However, Jayalalithaa continues to be the CM. AIADMK was in discussions on a stand-in leadership for the government.The move seems to have followed the precedent set in MGR's time when he went to the US for treatment.
