With 31,000 cusecs of water released from Khadakwasla Dam into the river as a precaution on Friday, the water body swelled alarmingly, prompting rumours to stay alert for flooding on social media. Meanwhile, the civic body shut down Tilak Bridge near the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) main building, as the river water began lapping onto it. Rajendra Raut, superintending engineer of the road department, clarified, “This bridge and some others have been shut as a precautionary measure.“
