The Urban Development Ministry has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporationto prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for a Metro project in Nagpur. According to officials, Nagpur Metro will have two lines with a length of nearly 37km. The cost of the project is estimated to be over Rs 8,000 crore, a source said. Apart from Nagpur, several other cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Surat, Indore, Kochi, Coimbatore and Kozhikode are also being considered for the creation of Metro networks, officials said.
