3 Crore Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in India

Linking majority of the terror incidents directly with Bangladesh, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) claimed that over three crore Bangladeshis stay in India illegally and announced a nationwide agitation to evict them out of the country.Nearly 55-lakh stay in Assam, while 30 lakh each in Bihar and West Bengal. Maharashtra is not isolated from the problem as more than 15 lakh stay illegally in Mumbai and Thane district. “The issue is becoming serious and the government must take cognizance of it rather than appeasing them,” ABVP’s all-India organising secretary Sunil Ambekar said while releasing a report ‘Bangladesh Infiltration in India’.
ABVP, the students’ wing of Bharatiya Janata Party, visited several border outposts across the Indo-Bangladesh border.Ambekar, who was accompanied by Prakash Belwade, ABVP secretary of Maharashtra unit, said that several terror incident including the blasts at Hyderabad, has been linked to HuJI, which operates from Bangladesh.
Asked whether last week’s blasts at Ahmedabad and Bengaluru and the recovery of live bombs in Surat have been engineered by Bangladeshis, he said, “We have come across media reports that HuJI might be involved,” adding, “The ISI of Pakistan is running terror operations through Bangladesh.” He said that from August 7, ABVP will observe antiinfiltration week in college campus, which will conclude on August 14 as ‘Sankalp-divas’, where students will pledge to help the authorities to tackle the Bangladeshi infiltration problem. Subsequently, students will also write to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh asking the Central government to act strongly against the illegal Bangladeshis.
Belwade said that a delegation would call on Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who holds the home portfolio. Ambekar said out that on September 20-21, the all India students’ leaders conference will be held in Patna, where a final plan would be chalked out to plan a protest in Chicken’s Neck area.“The policy of the government should be to detect, delete and deport,” he said.
